Lego heaven

Someone turned Six.....

And he was in Lego Heaven....We had lego ice cream cake that I invented which included buying an already made ice cream cake and then plopping legos on top of it (Can you say E-a-s-y) Lego games, lego car races and lego building contests. Lego prizes and then he opened up his presents which all happened to be legos...imagine that!!!

Come to California

Yesterday as I was basking in the beautiful sunshine I realized this (75 degrees in the middle of January) is what makes this state so utterly awesome. It's hard to imagine that the rest of the country is currently experiencing arctic like conditions when we couldn't be having a more beautiful, pleasant and sunny January. Sorry to rub it in your faces those of you who may be stuck in your homes because it is -10 degrees. Yesterday my friend in Wisconsin told me it was -40 degrees with wind chill...Yikes is that even possible?
Don't worry we have our fair share of problems in California. The state is about to go bankrupt, no more money for current road construction, unemployment rate is higher then the national average, the housing market is in a free fall, drought and water shortage (it's usually rainy in January, not sunny) and who knows if there is any money left to educate our children??? But take that aside and just know that with all that awfulness is beautiful sunshine weather to enjoy.

Not to be forgotten that we have a Governor who happens to be a movie star. He will just sprinkle some of his movie star magic and terminator powers to make all this bleakness in our state disappear. The empty homes will be filled, housing will go back up, jobs will come out of nowhere, the rain will start to fall and suddenly we will have money to educate our children and fix all the half done roads. Until then I will just enjoy this awesome weather and feel so blessed and grateful to live in this beautiful state.

I learned how to crawl.....and now my mom can't get anything done. But seriously how can she get mad at this sweet face???

It's been a while since she's had a baby around the house, so nothing is babyproof, yet!!!! Which makes for quite the adventure

Christmas memories...and visiting family

So every Christmas we do this to ourselves..... the day after Christmas we pack up the kids, snow gear and all and head out to Utah to see all their cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents. Some may think we are crazy to do this. Even though this sounds like a lot of work and inconvenient it is definitely the highlight of their Christmas vacation. In fact that is what they wanted for Christmas....to go to Utah to see their cousins.
