Saturday night we had our 2nd annual Oktoberfest at our house. It included delicious German bratwurst and Bockwurst + my mom's secret recipe for Sauerkraut + German Potato salad + Apple Streudel + Linzer Torte + Good friends + fun games - the German beer - the children + our friend who dressed up as a German (notice the picture below as he is wearing dark socks with birkenstocks and bavarian sweater. He got the costume just perfect) = a really great night!!!!
Is that Mark in the Kitchen? I had to take a photo since it's always a memorable moment when he is doing the dishes. He has many wonderful qualities and talents but cleaning the kitchen just isn't one of them.
Some of the fun friends that came to share in the festivities.

Hooray! For the first time in his life Carl wins a contest that involves his clothing!
How funny that we featured each other's husbands on the same night. Thanks for a terrific party! I loved it. A little too much. The food was DELISH!
Please have Celia do an imitation of German Lady at restaurant in Bavaria charading "turkey with potatoes" to young american girls.
Carl's famous again...was he a better sport about you taking his picture for the blog?
2 words: Carl's Socks.
Way to keep the traditions going? Looks like you guys had a lot of fun! Was it the German Beer?
Hey Briggs...it was so fun to see a little bit of your house in these pictures. It looks beautiful. The party looks fun too.
