So you think you can Swim?

We had our doubts if Carson would ever learn how to swim. Maybe swimming isn't everyone's thing, right?

But after many tears, lots of treats for bribery, and spending half his college education fund I think we have a swimmer.

We aren't ready for the Olympics yet, but at least now he doesn't argue with the teacher about putting his head under water.

Kissing cousins?

Two cousins sharing a cool treat

Cousins we love our cousins. In fact I think my boys consider all of their cousins to be their favorites and if you ask them who their best friend is, guaranteed you will hear them each start to rattle off their cousins names. Thanks goodness for cousins. We are getting excited to spend a good portion of the month of July with both sides of our families which means lots of cousin time. When I was growing up my cousins all lived far away in Germany and they were older then me. Fortunately, I got to see them each summer when we would go to visit my grandma in Germany. Okay, I must admit I did have a few favorite cousins, and some that I wanted to marry when I grew up!!! (yuck, I know)

Cabo Wabo!

What happens in Cabo stays in Cabo! Christian and Anna slurping down their daily coca cola and fruit smoothies. He thought he was one of the adults and his appetite was the size of an adult man. He loved all the seafood and tried all kinds of fish, shrimp, calamari and lobster.

Our snorkel excursion

We went on a Catamaran out to Santa Maria Bay. The water was a little chilly. I think we all got freezer headaches while we were snorkeling in the ocean, but it was still a great experience.

Hanging out with the Locals

Do they look native yet!

Highlights from our trip

  • Spending time with Helle and Anna
  • Relaxing by the beach and pool
  • Watching and listening to the rowdy teenagers and greatful that Anna is so sweet, good and not a rowdy teenager.
  • Spending one on one time with Christian
  • No schedule
  • All the good food, silver jewelery and sunshine!

Low lights: None

Can it get any hotter?

Today was the Hottest day of the Year!!!!

102 degrees

Speaking of hot here is a picture of my

favorite 4 boys.

Happy Birthday Mark!
Love you!

Carson (Mark's biggest competition)

Can't sleep so I guess I will finish my blog.
Okay, so here's the the thing I am suppose to be in Cabo, Mexico right now, but we ran into a little passport problem. It's been a week of mishaps. But you know how bad things come in 3's. Well I think we've had our 3 and so I am hoping for better luck for the coming week. Sometimes you've just got to laugh (or cry) at the silly things that come your way.

1. Like sitting in bay area traffic for almost 2 hours trying to get to the airport, only to find out they won't let me fly with my son to Mexico, and now I must drive home to get his original birth certificate. Yea, for me now I get to drive another 2 1/2 hours to get home. (normally it should only take over an hour.)

2. Jumping into a pool fully clothed with my new mobile phone in my pocket. oops! But I did help a little girl that was struggling in the water.

3. Getting to rebuy my mobile phone for a small fortune.

Silver lining to the story, I got to make a birthday dinner for Mark and spend few minutes with him on his birthday before I leave for the airport. Looks like we will be flying out tomorrow June 15. Christian and I are going to meet Helle and Anna for a week in Cabo to celebrate Helle's birthday. Must go to sleep now. Got to get up at 5:00am to miss that bay area traffic.

Laguna Beach Vacation

Our Family trip to Laguna Beach at the St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort
June 1-7 , 2007

The boys could dig in the sand for hours. They were completely entertained by the water and sand. They were building the "Great wall of China".

We got to tag-a-long with Mark for the bi-annual firm meeting, which happened to be in Laguna beach. We decided to make it a vacation for the family. While Mark was at meetings during the day we played at the beach and disneyland. We did get to spend the weekend with Mark and occasionally see him throughout the day. Which was great since we really haven't seen him much since February. He has been on a huge project that has taken him away from home and working 6 days a week. We are all looking forward to it being completed.

We got to visit with Joel and Angel who were also on a much deserved vacation in Newport Beach. It was fun to spend the afternoon with them.

Here we are enjoying the beach in Laguna. The weather was a little overcast at first, but that didn't stop the boys from playing in the sand and eventually getting in the water. I just want to freeze the boys. They are at the best age no toddlers in diapers and no sassy, bored teenagers. Too bad they have to keep growing up.

At least they were not to old to enjoy Disneyland. This is the first time we got to enjoy Disneyland without strollers or diapers. It was a big moment for me. Carson rode all the rides. He was just barely tall enough. We were all amazed that he would ride the big rides, but with two older brothers, does he have a choice?

Carson all worn out from the rides and all the churros that he ate.
We had a wonderful time and look forward to our next company meeting!!!
